It’s ok to say ‘I have a Budget to work to,’ I would be surprised if it didn’t come into the conversation. Unfortunately you cannot cut costs on workmanship and quality, but you can make savings on fabric. There are so many fabrics out there ranging from £200 a meter to £25 a meter, and I can honestly say that more than often it’s the expensive fabrics that are problematic. Where it’s easy to see the difference between a bespoke handmade pair of curtains and a shop bought machined pair of curtains, my opinion is not so easy to see the difference between fabrics. I’m sure there’s lots of people that would dispute that, but having the experience of working with £200 a meter fabric and £25 a meter fabric, I don’t believe that’s the case.
