It’s Positively Tropical

It may not be feeling Tropical at the moment with the weather, but tropical prints are all over the catwalks and interiors are being inspired by it as well. We saw it trending mid to late last year, but it’s definitely remaining for the spring. New from ‘Comengo’ for Spring/summer 2018, florida soft collection featuring layers of cheese plant leaves printed onto cotton. It’s been highlighted on sofas, but can be used on cushions, curtains, blinds and bedding with the use of house plants brings the whole look together. ‘Maximalism’ is the word of the moment, using the ‘80s’ as its inspiration. This was a decade of excess and is coming back to interiors in the form of vibrant colours, bold, splashy prints and patterned wallpapers on all walls with matching fabrics – if you dare!!

If pattern scares you, look for a print on a neutral background with just two colours on top. It will add plenty of visual interest as well as a subtle hit of colour to your scheme.

We have recently discovered ‘ILIV’ fabrics and co-ordinating wallpapers, and they have launched a Rain Forest Collection, which is fantastic in its quality and price, coming in at half the cost of other fabric manufactures.

We now stock all ILIV collections, so contact us to arrange a home visit to view the collections or visit www.i-liv.co.uk
